Lesley B. Miller is an associate with Mainor Eglet Cottle who previously practiced insurance defense law in Las Vegas. She left the practice of insurance defense to pursue a career with Mainor Eglet Cottle, in furtherance of her interest in helping others.
Lesley attended college at the University of Michigan, at Ann Arbor, majoring in English and minoring in Spanish.; She then attended law school at Loyola Law School, in Los Angeles, from 1999 through 2002. At Loyola, Lesley received First Honors Awards in three of her research and writing classes. She also was selected for Loyola's International Law Review.
While in Los Angeles, Lesley clerked at the District Attorney's Office for a Special Assistant to D.A. Steve Cooley. Her work there focused mostly on legislation regarding California's Three Strikes Law, Proposition 36 (which allowed first- and second-time, non-violent drug possession offenders the opportunity to receive substance abuse treatment instead of incarceration), and other new legislation proposed by that office. Lesley also clerked for attorneys at the Los Angeles Dependency Court, who represented minors in abuse and neglect cases.
In May 2002, Lesley moved to Las Vegas and sat for the Nevada State Bar Exam, which she passed in Fall 2002. Thereafter, she joined Thorndal, Armstrong, Delk, Balkenbush & Eisinger, a Las Vegas general insurance defense litigation firm, where she practiced for two and a half years.
Lesley is active in community organizations such as the Junior League of Las Vegas, the Legacy Society Board for the Boys and Girls Clubs of Las Vegas, and the Nevada American Inn of Court. She is also a member of the Nevada Trial Lawyers Association, the State Bar of Nevada, and the Clark County Bar Association.
