The 2005 “Trial Lawyer of the Year” for the State of Nevada, Robert T. Eglet is the most respected and sought after trial lawyer in Nevada. Mr. Eglet is a senior partner with Mainor Eglet Cottle where he focuses his practice on trying wrongful death and serious complex injury cases. Mr. Eglet has the distinction of being the firm’s most experienced trial attorney having tried more than eighty (80) civil jury trials.
In 2004, Mr. Eglet was the recipient of the “Badger Award” for his distinguished service to the Nevada Trial Lawyers Association and to the People of Nevada. The “Badger Award” is the Nevada Trial Lawyers Association’s most honored award.
Mr. Eglet has achieved the prestigious “AV” rating from Martindale-Hubble Law Directory. “AV” is the highest rating a lawyer can receive and is reserved for only a small percentage of the best lawyers in America. The “A” signifies the highest level of legal ability while the “V” denotes “very high” adherence to the “Professional Code of Responsibility,” in conduct, ethics, reliability and diligence. Mr. Eglet’s skills trying serious injury and wrongful death cases has resulted in one multi-million dollar verdict after another, including the largest verdict in Nevada for sexually inappropriate contact with a patient by her physician. In the past five (5) years alone, Mr. Eglet has obtained verdicts and settlements totaling more than Eighty Five Million Dollars ($85,000,000.00) on behalf of his clients. Mr. Eglet’s achievements as a trial lawyers has earned him membership in the “Million Dollar Advocates Forum.” In 2002 he was named a “Pillar of Justice” by the Nevada Trial Lawyers Association. In 1999, Mr. Eglet was distinguished as a “Colleague” and a “Benefactor” with the Nevada Law Foundation. Colleague-ship in the Nevada Law Foundation is reserved for only 10% percent of the attorneys in Nevada and Mr. Eglet was only the fifth lawyer in Nevada to be named as a “Benefactor” in the Nevada Law Foundation. In February 2005, Mr. Eglet was appointed by the Nevada Supreme Court to the “Board of Trustees” for the Nevada Law Foundation, which was founded in 1983 to address the significant need for funding of legal services to the poor and legally disadvantaged in Nevada. In September 2005 Mr. Eglet was appointed by the Nevada Supreme Court to the Supreme Court Bench-Bar Committee.
Mr. Eglet is the President of the Nevada Trial Lawyers Association and has been a member of its Board of Governors since 2002. Mr. Eglet is a member of the “Presidents Club” and an “Advocate” with the Association of Trial lawyers of America. Mr. Eglet is a graduate of Hastings School of Law College of Trial Advocacy and the National College of Advocacy. Finally, Mr. Eglet works as an unpaid lobbyist protecting the rights of the citizens of Nevada.

A resident of Nevada since childhood, Mr. Eglet graduated from Wester High School in Las Vegas, before earning his Degree in Economics, with Honors, from University of Nevada. Mr. Eglet went on to receive his Law Degree from the University of Pacific, McGeorge School of Law.
After graduation from law school, Mr. Eglet returned to Las Vegas and joined one of Nevada’s oldest and largest law firms where he spent the next four years developing his skills as a trial lawyer. Thereafter, Mr. Eglet started his own law firm where he successfully managed the growth of his firm from two to twelve attorneys over the next decade, while at the same time trying countless cases. In 2000, Mr. Eglet began his partnership with his current partners where he has distinguished himself as one of Nevada’s preeminent trial lawyers.
When Robert is not pursuing the rights of injured victims, he and his wife, Tracy Eglet, also a partner with Mainor Eglet Cottle, split their time between their three children and the charitable and youth organizations they support.
